What is the power voltage in Italy?

The voltage used in Italy is 220 Volts/AC. The power points of the various household appliances and electronic devices might be different from those used in your country, so find out first and bring an adapter if you need it. Alternatively, you can buy an adapter here in Castelraimondo at the price of about € 10.

Are transfers included in the price?

Transfers from “Leonardo da Vinci” International Airport in Fiumicino, Rome, costs 30€ for arrivals (on sundays, before the start of the 4-week course) and leaves at about 6 p.m. For departures, the transfer costs € 30 (on saturdays afer the 4-week course finishes) and is organized for a minimum of 20 people.

How can I reach Castelraimondo train station?

The train station is a 10-minute walk from the school. Besides train, there are also buses connecting Castelraimondo with the nearby towns, including coastal towns.

Is it possible to rent a car?

You can rent a car at different agencies near Castelraimondo, with the help of our students’ office.

Where can I shop for groceries?

There is a supermarket next to the school, open from 8.30 AM to 8.00 PM. There you can take advantage of the special students discount.

Where can I withdraw money?

You can easily find ATM machines in the town center and there is also a Western Union office at the tobacco shop.

What are shops working hours?

In Castelraimondo most shops open from 9:00 to 1:00 and from 4:30 to 8:00. Closing time is Monday morning. On sundays, apart from bars e restaurants, all shops are closed.

 

What is the cost of living?

The approximate cost of shopping in supermarkets for 4 weeks is € 250. In bars, a bottle of mineral water costs € 0.80, a cappuccino € 1, a beer € 3, a slice of pizza € 1.20, a sandwich € 1.50, a hamburger € 4. In restaurants, a pizza and a drink cost about € 10, while the price of a full meal is € 15 upwards. A newspaper costs € 1 (prices are average and may vary).

What’s the climate?

In summertime it is hot, but our proximity to the Apennines makes evenings quite mild. This pleasant climate allows us to enjoy the sea from May to September. In wintertime it can be very cold and sometimes it snows too. The mildest temperatures are in springtime and autumn. However, we suggest contacting us to get more detailed information about the weather, which is today subject to unexpected changes.

Do I need to take a test to evaluate my level of Italian before my arrival?

If you have never studied Italian, you do not need to do it. Otherwise, on the first day, you will have to do a written test and a short oral interview that will allow us to evaluate your language level and then put you in the most appropriate classroom.

Is the final test compulsory?

No, it’s up to you whether you want to do it or not. However, in order to be able to do it you need to have at least 75% of classroom attendance. The final test will give you the right to have your mark printed on your certificate.

Will I receive a certificate?

To receive a certificate you need to attend classes for at least 20 hours.

 

Is didactic material included?

No. The didactic material is included in the enrollment fee of 28€ (see the application form for enrollment).
