What is the supply voltage in Italy?

The voltage used in Italy is 220 Volts AC. The plugs of household appliances and electronic devices may differ from those used in your country, so please check and bring a suitable adapter. Alternatively, you can buy an adapter here in Castelraimondo for about € 10.

Are transfers included in the price?

The transfer from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (Fiumicino, Rome) costs €35 for arrivals on Sundays (before the start of the 4-week course), with departure at approximately 6:00 PM. The departure transfer also costs €35 and is available on Saturdays after the 4-week course ends, provided there is a minimum of 20 participants.

How can I reach Castelraimondo train station?

The train station is just a 10-minute walk from the school. In addition to trains, there are also buses connecting Castelraimondo with the nearby towns, including coastal towns.

Is it possible to rent a car?

You can rent a car at different agencies near Castelraimondo, with the help of our student office. Car rentals are available from several agencies near Castelraimondo, with support provided by our student office.

Where can I shop for groceries?

There is a supermarket right next to the school, open from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM, where you can take advantage of a special student discount.

Where can I withdraw money?

You can easily find ATMs in the town center, and there is also a Western Union office at the tobacco shop.

What are the trading hours for shops?

In Castelraimondo, shops are usually open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM. They close on Monday mornings. On Sundays, all shops are closed except for bars and restaurants.

What is the cost of living?

The approximate cost of grocery shopping for 4 weeks is around €300. In bars, a bottle of mineral water costs about €1, a cappuccino €1.50, a beer €4.50, a slice of pizza €1.50, a sandwich €2, and a hamburger €6.
In restaurants, a pizza and a drink cost around €10, while a full meal starts at €15. A newspaper costs €1, and a cinema ticket is €7. Petrol is approximately €1.80 per liter. (Prices are averages and may vary.)

What is the climate?

In summertime, it’s hot, but our proximity to the Apennines makes the evenings quite mild. This pleasant climate allows us to enjoy the beach from May to September. In winter, it can get very cold, and sometimes it snows. The mildest temperatures are in spring and autumn. However, we recommend contacting us for more detailed weather information, as conditions can be unpredictable nowadays.

Do I need to take a test to evaluate my level of Italian before my arrival?

If you have never studied Italian before, you do not need to take the test. Otherwise, on the first day, you will have to complete a written test and a short oral interview. These will allow us to evaluate your language level and place you in the most appropriate class.

Is the final test compulsory?

No, it’s up to you whether you want to take it or not. However, to be eligible, you need to have at least 75% classroom attendance. The final test will allow you to have your mark printed on your certificate.

Will I receive a certificate?

To receive a certificate, you need to attend at least 20 hours of classes.

Is the course material included?

No. The course material is included in the enrollment fee of €28 (see the enrollment application form).
